Volleyball is a fast game — and the difference between making the play or watching the ball drop often comes down to reaction speed and defensive IQ. That’s why our Sacramento volleyball clinics focus on the fundamentals that win games: serve receive, defensive reads, and smart positioning.
Designed for youth athletes ages 11–18, these clinics combine elite technical training, small-group attention (max 4 athletes), and decades of experience from Coach Chris Mah, a former nationally ranked No. 1 Libero in the U.S.
WHY IT MATTERS
In today’s game, every rally starts with serve receive. If players can’t pass, they can’t play. Defense and serve receive don’t just keep the ball alive — they set the tone for offense, transition, and momentum.
Our clinics emphasize:
Reaction Speed → earlier reads, faster movement, smarter footwork.
Defensive IQ → understanding server cues, hitter approach, and court positioning.
Confidence Under Pressure → repeating game-like reps until movements become second nature.

My Coaching Background
I’ve played and coached volleyball for over 30 years, earning recognition as the No. 1 Libero in the nation during my career. My training system was shaped by legendary coaches and programs, including:
Training under Marv Dunphy (Olympic Gold Medal coach at Pepperdine).
Competing alongside elite West Coast players from Balboa Bay, SCVC, and Team Reebok.
Building my own reputation in NorCal as a defensive specialist who “never let the ball drop.”
Now, I bring that experience to youth players in Sacramento — helping athletes develop faster by teaching them the techniques and IQ once reserved for college and pro players.
